The Duchess in Sittard

While in Sittard this weekend my partner and I called in at the Duchess on Saturday evening. We were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff and the background playlist added to the relaxing atmosphere.
I very much like that the menu is not over complicated but with all the favourites covered. I quickly opted for the duck breast starter followed by the beef tenderloin (I already noticed the sticky toffee pudding desert, which I had down as a must).
The duck breast was perfectly cooked for me (slightly pink) and the celeriac and salad were fresh and crisp. The beef tenderloin was again just how I like it and pretty much melted in the mouth! And well accompanied by the vegetable selection. I paired with Rose as it had been a pretty hot day which worked well. Now for desert and the sticky toffee pudding… wow… this is the benchmark for all sticky toffee puddings anywhere!
As a nice touch, at the end of the meal the owner/chef introduced himself and clearly you can see he is passionate about his work.
Great food, very cool evening and can only recommend.
