d'n kleine dommel in Nuenen

We opted to held a party for our daughter's first birthday on 24th of July 2022 at Kleine Dommel, which is also a running restaurant. We were very displeased with the service and behavior of the staff. They really made the worst of our day. The only person that made us feel good was the chef. It seemed he really wanted to help and make our day better but one person can't do all.

We also felt subtle "racism" and something that my fellow dutch colleague also noticed.

My dutch colleague also made a phone call who was also present at the party and she was also surprised with the behavior and serving at the party. She called since we thought maybe the language, English was a problem but No, the Manager made it clear that his stances were the same in English and Dutch.

The menu we were offered for 10,50 per person included following 13 items:
1. Crispy garnalen.
2. Luxe borrelplateau.
3. Mini Pizza.
4. Bitter granituur.
5. Brabants worstenbroodje.
6. Canape met capaccio.
7. Canape met kip kerriesalad.
8. Canapé roomkaas.
9. Canapé geitenkaas.
10 Borrelnootjes.
11. Nachos met avocado.
12. Kaas met augurk.
13. Loempia.
And the menu we were served was following 7 items:
1. Veg Pizza slice.
2. Veg bitter ball.
3. Canapé roomkaas.
4. Borrelnootjes.
5. Nachos met avocado.
6. Kaas met augurk.
7. Loempia.
They could not even arrange proper vegetarian replacements for above and said that it is too expensive to arrange vegetarian stuff. We carried our own cakes for the guests.

It is so surprising that they don't notice the difference they offered us. And did not even made sure that it is served well and to all. They said there were arrangements for 40 people. Le us assume that 5 people sit on 1 table then there should atleast 8 plateaus of each. But no there were 2 plateaus made and not even served to all guests. We heard complaints from everyone at party, they made it so obvious and unbearable.

Also, they gave excuse that they have a running restaurant and it was busy - That is not my problem- they offered us the deal, we accepted it. (Foolish of us!)

they did not make proper arrangements for the feest. There was already cribbing from the start on the menu, vegetarian options and I should have been smarter to cancel then but was optimistic and trusted their assurance, that it may be handled well later. So a learning and of course - they clearly demonstrated the behavior to all guests on how they conduct feests.
